Catherine and Bill met while working together at IBM in the early 2000’s and remained in touch on social media in the ensuing years. Bill retired in March 2021 and continued to post encouraging comments on Catherine's cooking and fitness posts while he traveled cross-country often and welcomed his first grandchild.

They reconnected digitally during the pandemic and when Catherine was traveling overseas in the summer of 2023, Bill asked if he could keep in touch. They used this opportunity to get to know each other better, and it soon became clear that they had a special connection.

After not seeing each other for about 15 years, they met again in person on August 25, 2023 on the corner of 67th Street and Amsterdam Ave. Their date at El Fish led to a first kiss and a feeling that it was more than two old friends catching up. Less than a year and a half later, Bill proposed on the same spot on December 23, 2024.

They split their time between Catherine’s place in NYC at Lincoln Center and Bill’s place near the Jersey shore. Bill has shown Catherine the delights of NJ beach life, and Catherine has helped Bill explore and fall in love with Broadway and the Upper West Side.

They enjoy running in Central Park and love setting goals and working together to achieve them. They love cooking and have taken cooking classes together, but continue to debate over the best way to load a dishwasher!

Traveling has also become a mutual interest and they've taken trips to the Dominican Republic, Europe, the West Coast and skiing in Utah.

Catherine’s love of tennis and the Mets has rubbed off on Bill. They love watching sports on TV and attending live matches and games when possible.

They cannot wait to get married this October and continue their journey together!
